My skincare routine changes a lot throughout the seasons. In the summer, my skin tends to be more oily and acne-prone, so I like to use scrub cleansers and acne lotions to keep my skin looking healthy.
In the morning, I use a St. Ives scrub in the shower. The scent is so wonderful and the texture of the scrub is perfect; it’s not too harsh, but still feels like it’s really exfoliating my skin, and it even foams up a little bit, which I really like.
After cleansing, I use my Neutrogena moisturizer. The “water gel” formula is great because it soaks in immediately and doesn’t feel greasy whatsoever (I’m very sensitive to greasy moisturizers).
At night, after using Aveeno face wipes to take off my makeup, I use an Aveeno scrub to cleanse.
After cleansing, I use a tea tree blemish-fading lotion from The Body Shop all over my face to keep acne at bay. This stuff works well and doesn’t dry out my skin. Plus, it smells great!
This final step is only needed if I’m having a breakout (which is most of the time during the summer) and works wonders on acne. This Mario Badescu Drying Lotion dries out acne overnight and keeps oncoming pimples from surfacing.
